All about the Depths of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom
Players familiar with the surface of Hyrule from Breath of the Wild will be pleased (or unhappy?) to discover The Deep of the kingdom in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom. This particularly inhospitable region is full of treasures and riches for those who know how to find them.
What are the Depths of Hyrule?
The Depths are a brand new game zone that is equal in size to the surface of Hyrule. The topography of the links and the activities found there are nevertheless quite different. While the sky can be considered a platforming area and the surface an adventure and exploration area, the Depths act as a "playground" for the player. survival and combat zones in hostile environments.

There are many quests, camps, secrets and treasures, all very different from those found on the surface. The most powerful and rare equipment is hidden in the shadows. But beware, all enemies are contaminated by the miasma. They are therefore more powerful and the wounds they inflict can only be healed by bathing in sunlight.
How to Reach the Depths
Since the awakening of the mummy under the castle of Hyrule, numerous crevices and abysses have opened all over the kingdom. Toxic miasmas are coming out of them, contaminating the environment and harming living beings. By jumping into these abysses, you can reach the Deep. They can be easily found on your map; they are large black holes with red/pink circles.
Before diving into an abyss, make sure you have your ParavoileIn which case the reception will be painful. It is also a good idea to stock up on Lumos Seeds to light your way. They are usually found in the caves on the surface.
Moving in the Deep
No sunlight can reach the Depths and so the area is plunged into darkness. Throwing Lumos Seeds to light your way little by little. This is absolutely essential as the ground in the Depths is covered in miasma and you risk taking unhealable damage if you step into it.
Purifying Seeds
In order to light your way more effectively and permanently, you should find the purifying roots. When activated, these roots emit an invigorating light that heals you from miasma and illuminates the entire area in a very wide radius.
Purifier seeds are quite massive and glow with a small yellow colour that is easy to see in the dark. Avoid going blind in the dark, and move from purifier seed to purifier seed until the area is lit.

There is one extremely useful trick with these Purifying Seeds: they are all located immediately below the sanctuaries on the surface. By cross-referencing your map of the Deep and the Surface, you will be able to find the missing Seeds or Shrines much more easily. Some shrines are well hidden, but not their seeds, and vice versa.

The Sonium deposits
If you see torches burning in the dark, it is most likely that the bokoblins have found a sonium deposit. Don't hesitate to go and fight them to mine the rock and get precious ore. The sonium allows you to create vehicles on the fly or to buy crystals to increase your energy.

Abandoned Mines
You will find abandoned mines all over the Depths. By waking up the Golems who work there, you will get engravings to learn new constructions with Duplicate. They also run a shop to turn your energy orbs and sonium into crystals.
The golems also have clues about the surrounding elements.
The Statues of Genius
Below the Goddess statues on the surface are Genie statues in the Depths. These statues allow you to trade the spirits you collect in the area for rare items. They also allow you to buy several pieces of unique equipment, such as Majora's Mask. The more statues you find, the more different items they will offer.
The ghosts of the knights of Hyrule
You will sometimes come across the ghosts of knights wielding weapons. These weapons have the particularity of being uneroded versions of the weapons you can find on the surface.
Remember that in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom, all weapons have been corroded and destroyed by miasma. Finding weapons in good condition is therefore extremely rare and makes it possible to make ultra-resistant and powerful equipment.
The Yiga Camps
Since Link sent Kohga, the leader of the Yiga, into the bowels of the earth, the entire clan has settled in the depths. Their goal is to use sonium to create an ultimate war machine. With the opening of the surface, they have begun to disguise themselves as Hylian archaeologists to trap curious travellers.
The Yiga have established numerous camps throughout the Deep. They protect these camps with soneaus constructions. If you manage to defeat the camp leader, you will be able to get their assembly plans. for Duplicate.
