Where to find Duplicate, the power to summon vehicles in Zelda Tears of the Kindgom
When you leave the heavenly island of the Zelda Tears of the KingdomLink has in his possession four powers granted by Rauru and Zelda: Amalgam, Empowerment, Retrospect and Infiltration. But there is a fourth hidden one: Duplicate. A power that is extremely useful for the construction of vehicles.
While making machines and tools of all kinds with Emprise is particularly fun in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom, having to repeat certain patterns can be tiresome. This is especially the case for the creation of gliders or cars. Fortunately, there is a power capable of automate construction. It's about Duplicate!
How to obtain a duplicate
To get the Duplicate, you will have to follow the quests of Josha. This young assistant of Pru'ha is located on the ground floor of the observatory of the Watchtower, near the northern gate. Josha's mission is to investigate the abysses leading to to the Depths with a group of archaeologists. After your first forays, she will tell you about a power that resides in a mine found in the depths.
This is the the Great Central Abandoned Mine which is immediately under the ruins of the Temple of TimeThe Temple of Time is located on the Prelude plateau (not to be confused with the Temple of Time on the Celestial Island of the Prelude). You can get there by following the gaze of the statues in the depths of Hyrule's central plain (see image above).
Or you can jump straight into an abyss of the Prelude plateau and work your way from there to the mine. (Coordinates: -0821 -1940 -0523)
On site, you will find archaeologists and a water mechanism to activate that will give you the power to Duplicate. Before doing so, you are advised to prepare for battle; you will once again cross paths with an old enemy: Kohga, the leader of the Yiga. More on this below.
How Duplicate works
Duplicate is a power that will automatically store the last 30 machines in memory that you have built. By triggering Duplicate, you can select one of these devices and rebuild it in front of you at any time.
Of course, this is not completely free, otherwise the power would be far too strong. You will have to provide the necessary materials; or the reconstruction of the vehicle, or pay with sonium.
As far as supplying the materials is concerned, it is sufficient that elements similar to those which make up your construction are present in the vicinity. Duplicate will then grab them and assemble them for you. This is the best way to use the many storage areas scattered throughout the game. Typically, you'll often come across workbenches with lots of wooden beams and planks on the surface of Hyrule. You can create a cart with it, save it, and summon it back as it was each time you pass another storage area.
On the other hand, all materials that you do not have, but which are necessary for your construction, must be replaced by Sonium spares. The number of Sonium needed depends on the size and rarity of the spare parts to be built. Spare parts are more fragile than conventional parts and will break after a while. They can only help temporarily. If you need a solid vehicle, it is better to use your sonium orbs before starting Duplicate, rather than using spare parts.
Don't forget to bookmark vehicles that you plan to use again later so that you don't lose them.
Duplicate construction plans
As suggested by Kohga's presence at the time of gaining power, Duplicate is extremely connected to the Yigas. These outlaws seek to build war machines for the Demon King. To do this, they conduct tests and research throughout the depths.
By finding Yiga camps In the Depths, you can steal the fruit of their research and receive very useful plans for your adventure to use with Duplicates. There are plans for vehicles to move around, but also for fighting, such as a flamethrower unicycle.
By finding the other former Deep Sea minesIn addition, golems can also offer you construction engravings. These engravings focus on the creation of tools such as bridges, stairs or automatons.
Beware, some of these mines are guarded by Kohga, which systematically leads to a boss battle with a heavy emphasis on vehicles and constructions.
