The Powers of the Wise in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom
In addition to the powers from Rauru's arm, Link can also use the powers of the Sages he meets in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom. These powers are reminiscent of the prodigies in Zelda Breath of the Wild. We explain how they work and how to get them.
/!\ Warning: this guide contains spoilers as to the identity of the Wise Ones and their true number in the adventure. Read only at your own risk.
The powers of the Wise
Like the five fingers of a hand and the five powers of the Rauru armIn the game, Link can make pacts with five different sages in the adventure. Each pact takes the form of a ring that Link attaches to one of his fingers. Once a ring is obtained, the spirit of the corresponding Sage will accompany Link throughout the adventure. This spirit can participate in battles and attract the attention of enemies, which is very useful when faced with many enemies.
To use the power of a Sage, you will have to go to the side of his spirit and ask him to help you by pressing button A. After using a power, you will have to wait about ten seconds before you can use it again.
Babil, the Wind Wise Man
Babil is the son of Toba, the sparrow warrior who helped Link in Breath of the Wild. The young chick now flies on his own and, although he worries his parents all the time, is always ready for action. He becomes the Sage of the Wind by reaching the legendary Celestial Ark, which has been spoken of in the Piaffe legends for centuries.
The power of Babil : Unlike Revali, which created updrafts, Babil can generate horizontal air currents. This air can propel Link's paravane much further, making it indispensable for long-distance travel. Wind can also activate turbines and other wind mechanisms. It repels light objects, including enemy arrows, and can extinguish small fires such as those from torches. On larger fires, however, it will only fan the flames.
The spirit of Babil in action: Babil's spirit participates in the fight by using his father's bow. He twirls around enemies and shoots at them to get their attention. Babil tends to prefer head shots, so he often stuns enemies in the face.
Yunobo, the Sage of Fire
Yunobo is the heir of Daruk, the Goron prodigy. He had already helped Link to reach the top of Death Mountain in Breath of the Wild. In Tears of the Kingdom, he was bewitched by a mask given to him by Zelda and became a despot who mistreats his people. By freeing him from the spell and completing the Fire Temple in the lost city of Gorondia, Yunobo becomes the Sage of Fire and lends his strength to Link.
The power of Yunobo : Yunobo can ball up and be used as a cannon. Once thrown, it goes straight in the chosen direction and only comes back when it has hit an enemy or obstacle in a huge fiery explosion. In addition, Yunobo automatically attaches to the front of any vehicle Link creates to become a backup cannon. This power is very useful for destroying rocks or setting things on fire without spending resources.
Yunobo's spirit in battle: The spirit of Yunobo participates in the fight by using a large stone-breaking sword. He hits very hard, easily knocking down smaller enemies or knocking out larger ones. He is probably the hardest hitting sage of all.
Sidon, the Sage of Water
Sidon is the crown prince of the kingdom Zora. He has been leading his people since the king retired and must deal with an unstoppable flow of toxic sludge from the sky. He and Link must travel to the Great Spring of Hyrule where a small creature is fouling all the water in the area. Once defeated, Sidon becomes the Sage of Water and offers his power to Link.
The power of Sidon : Sidon can create a water shield around Link. It is used both to defend and to attack. The shield can indeed absorb the damage of an attack, no matter how powerful it is. This is particularly useful against the biggest bosses. The shield disappears if Link is hit once or if he attacks. Indeed, when he attacks, the shield turns into a water blade whose shape and range depend on the weapon Link is using. Outside of combat, this power can be used to protect Link from heat, but also to get through or extinguish large fires.
The spirit of Sidon in battle : The spirit of Sidon participates in the fight by giving blows with the Zora spear. It has an excellent range and a respeccable attack speed. It works wonders against a crowd of average enemies and can easily interrupt opposing charges and shots.
Riju, the Sage of Lightning
Riju is the leader of the Gerudo people, descended from the prodigy Urbosa. By fighting with Link and recovering the lightning mask in Breath of the Wild, she earned her place in the hearts of her people. Recently, a storm and strange monsters have invaded the Gerudo City, forcing the inhabitants to take refuge in the city's underground. Link must help Riju master her new powers, repel enemy attacks and destroy the source of all these evils in the Temple of Lightning. She will then become the Sage of Lightning who will take an oath to help Link defeat the Demon King.
The power of Riju : Riju can channel the power of lightning to make it fall on a specific spot. But she needs Link to help her by shooting an arrow as a lightning rod. The longer she concentrates her lightning, the greater her range. If your arrow hits an obstacle or an enemy in Riju's area, a gigantic bolt of lightning will strike that point, electrifying and doing enormous damage to everyone in the area. This devastating lightning bolt wreaks havoc over an even wider area in wet environments. Electrocution also has the ability to disarm enemies in combat.
(Note that when you draw your bow, Riju seeks to move to your back, shifting the area of effect of her power. Take this into account when fighting).
Riju's spirit in battle: The spirit of Riju launches into battle armed with two scimitars. She attacks very quickly, leaving little respite for her opponents. Her damage is not incredible, but her speed of attack is such that she constantly interrupts her opponents.
Mineru, the Sage of the Spirit
Mineru is a hidden sage from Zelda Tears of the Kingdom that you unlock after collecting the first four sages (unless you know how to find the Spirit Temple on your own, which is very difficult but not impossible). Mineru is actually a Soneau and Rauru's sister. She is an expert engineer and scientist who has helped Zelda a lot. Mortally wounded in her fight against the Demon King, she stored her soul in the Pru'ha tablet while waiting for Link to wake up. But to be useful to him, she needs a new body that Link can build for her in the Temple of the Spirit. She will swear an oath to Link when he has finished building a Battle Golem in which Mineru's spirit will now reside.
The power of Mineru : Mineru is by far the sage with the most unusual power, as it is actually about controlling the battle golem yourself. Link then climbs on his back and the player can play the golem. The Golem has its own Amalgam power and can merge its arms and back with any object in the game. It is therefore possible to attach a spike ball to the left arm and a cannon to the right arm to make a devastating creature. But it is also possible to attach a water jet to the left arm and an electric core to the right arm to create areas that paralyse opponents. By attaching a fan to its back, the Golem will move faster while a rocket will act as a jetpack. It's up to you to find the best combinations!

The Golem is impervious to most damage zones and can therefore walk on lava, fire and miasma without any problems. On the other hand, all damage received by the Golem when Link controls it is transferred to Link. Since the Golem is large and slow, it is much more difficult to dodge attacks. On the other hand, it has a strong guard.
