Tears of the Dragon and Memories of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom
Among the main quests of Zelda Tears of the Kingdomthere is the one Tears of the Dragon. It allows viewing the memories of the kingdom and more particularly those of Zelda in order to learn more about the game's scenario, what happened to the princess and to the sword of legend.
Where to find all the Tears of the Dragon
In all, there are 18 memories to find in the game. Some are obtained by talking to important characters, but the majority are unlocked by finding the Dragon's Tears.
There are 12 Tears of the Dragon to find in the game. The twelfth and last one is unlocked once you have found the first eleven.
We advise you to collect the tears in chronological order of the script for a more coherent narrative and a better emotional impact of the various revelations.

The secrets of the legendary sword
Obtained through the Mojo Tree.
The Mojo Tree explains where the power of the Legendary Sword comes from and why it cannot be permanently destroyed.
- Souvenir 02 -
Awakening
Obtained by completing the prologue
Zelda and Link witness the awakening of a mummy under the bowels of Hyrule Castle. The legendary sword is immediately destroyed and Zelda disappears before Link's eyes.

Lost
Obtained by finding the Dragon Tear 1
Zelda wakes up in a peaceful place and meets Sonia and Rauru, the first rulers of the kingdom of Hyrule.

The shipwreck of time
Obtained by finding the Dragon Tear 2
Zelda realises that she has been thrown into the distant past. Rauru suggests that she consult her sister, Mineru, to help her.
- Souvenir 05 -
Consultation at Mineru
Obtained by finding the Dragon Tear 3
Mineru is fascinated by Zelda's story and her Pru'ha tablet. However, she knows of no way to bring Zelda back to her time, except for a forbidden rite: the draconic rite.

The Gerudo offensive
Obtained by finding the Dragon Tear 4
The Gerudo people, led by Ganondorf, rise up against the kingdom of Hyrule. King Rauru uses his secret stone to stop the revolt and defeat Ganondorf.

Feigned submission
Obtained by finding the Dragon Tear 5
Accepting his defeat, Ganondorf comes to prostrate himself before Rauru. But neither of them is fooled: it is a forced submission and the leader of the Gerudos will not stop there.

Zelda and Sonia
Obtained by finding the Dragon Tear 6
Zelda confides in Queen Sonia and tells her about her knight, Link. Sonia tells her more about the nature of his powers related to time and light.

The drama

Ganondorf hatches a plan to attack Queen Sonia by surprise. He succeeds in mortally wounding her, while Princess Zelda looks on in horror.

The birth of the Demon King
Obtained by finding the Dragon Tear 8
Ganondorf uses the occult stone to transform himself into the Demon King. He then changes his form and gains tremendous power before summoning an army of monsters.

The Demon King's Army
Obtained by defeating the Ghost of Ganon
The demon king uses his new powers to cover the world with miasma. At the head of his new army, he storms the kingdom of Hyrule once again.

The Oath of the Wise
Obtained by finding the Dragon Tear 9
The kingdom of Hyrule cannot withstand the onslaught of the Demon King. Rauru offers an occult stone to the representatives of each people who swear to help him in battle.

A king facing his duty
Obtained by finding the Dragon Tear 10
Zelda informs Rauru of what she has seen in her present: they will not be able to kill Ganondorf, only seal him. Rauru believes that by knowing the future, he can perhaps change it.

The Seal War
Obtained by finding the Sage of the Spirit
Mineru tells the story of the origin of Hyrule and the hidden stones. It also explains how King Rauru managed to seal Ganondorf after a terrible, unwinnable battle.

The sword of another era
Obtained by finding the Dragon Tear 11
When Rauru has just sacrificed himself to seal Ganondorf, the destroyed sword of legend appears before Zelda. She then understands the reason for its presence in the past and what its destiny is.

Decisions
Obtained by finding the Sage of the Spirit
Zelda explains to Mineru that she has decided to perform the draconic rite. In order to watch over the legendary sword and drink its power, she will transform herself into a dragon.

The Dragon's Tears
Obtained by finding the Dragon Tear 12
Zelda entrusts the Pru'ha tablet inhabited by Mineru's spirit to a Golem who must return it to Link in the present. She then swallows her occult stone and transforms into a gigantic white dragon.
- Souvenir 18 -
Zelda's prayer
Obtained by finding the legendary sword
Zelda says a final prayer to Link, handing over the legendary sword, before her spirit disappears completely and she becomes the white dragon.
