How to kill Death in Vampire Survivors?

Vampire Survivors is the roguelike shoot'em up video game that became all the rage a few weeks ago. The objective is simple, select a character and survive waves of monsters ready to kill you for as long as possible. Once you have reached the thirty minute mark, Death makes an appearance but often kills you instantly. So how do you get rid of it?

How to kill Death?

If you're tired of all your good games ending with the arrival of Death, you're probably wondering how to eliminate this powerful enemy. Then you've come to the right place, because this guide explains it all.

Step 1: Clerici and the Runetracer

First of all you will have to select the following character: Clerici. Then choose to play in the library and off you go! When your game starts, rush to the top left corner of the map to get a green XP gemThis is normally placed on a table. Once you pick it up, you move on to level 2 and the game offers you to select a new item. If you are not offered the RunetracerIf you have a problem with the system, give up your run and start again until you find it. This may take a while, so be patient.

Once you have the Runetracer, move to the half-enclosed space at the top of the map. You will find it easily as it is surrounded by several shelves full of books, with a clock and a painting in the centre, as well as a table and two chairs. The aim here is to position your character correctly in this space. Stand just above the leftmost chair, so that Clerici's right hand is aligned with the clock and her left hand with the painting, as shown in the image below.

But why position himself this way? You should know that Clerici has a temporary area bonus that decreases as he levels up. By positioning yourself in this way, your Runetracer will somehow lock onto the surrounding furniture and create a shield around you. If your character is correctly positioned, he will not be able to recover experience points and thus level up.

Step 2: Wait for the red gem

Now that you are correctly placed on the map, you will have to wait for a red gem appears. If about three minutes pass and it doesn't appear, just restart a game. But if you do see it, make sure it is close enough to you. Leave it where it is for now and wait until you reach the 30 minute mark.

Step 3: Retrieve the red gem

You're almost at the 30 minutes of play. Be ready to react quickly. The second the timer goes to 30:00, rush to the red gem to get it. You have to be extremely fast because you only have a short time before Death is upon you. This gem represents all the experience you have not collected during your game and you will therefore pass many levels in one go.

Step 4: Collect the items needed to kill Death

So you have just recover the red gem and you're going to move up a level. It's time to collect the items needed to kill Death. These are classified into three types: those that are mandatory to defeat your enemy, those that are not mandatory but are a real plus for your upcoming battle, and the bonus items if you really want to ensure extra security.

Step 5: Killing Death

Once you have levelled up and collected all the necessary items, return to your enclosed space. This time, however, stand between the table and the chair on the right. You must then align Clerici's right hand with the table above you.

Again, if you are correctly positioned, Death should be blocked at table level, allowing you to stay at a safe distance to attack him. Don't move, or you'll ruin everything you've accomplished so far. Then simply wait for your damage to do its job and kill your opponent.

Once the Death is defeated, you should know that a second one will appear a few minutes after it. If you kill it too, a third one will appear and so on... Finally you can defeat one or more Deaths, but they will always come back to lead you to the game over.

However, after killing a first Death, you will unlock a new character named Mask of the Red Death. If you play with it, it starts with 45% of power and a movement speed of 110%. Not bad, eh?
