Valorant Patch Notes 5.03

As announced by Riot Games, the new patch is the 5.03, so there will be no 5.02. The last patch, namely the 5.01, brought a number of changes to the skills of three agents: Yoru, Phoenix and KAY/O. This time, it's Chamber who is in the crosshairs. The nerfs of the patch 4.09 were probably not enough. Other Agents, Jett and Neon, also get some changes.

Valorant changes its game engine

Riot Games' FPS will be released under Unreal Engine version 4.26. This update improves the tools available to developers in a number of ways, but one of the aims of any engine update is to go unnoticed by players.

Despite this, the studio is aware of some interface issues that are still present and says that we could see some funkiness in the game and in the Main Menu. Riot even invites players to send in a bug report, if you find a bug or something that would disrupt your experience. Could this be a tease?

In addition, the developers are taking advantage of this update to visually evolve the Agent browser. More beautiful illustrations of the different agents are now used.


Chamber gets other nerfs

Currently, Chamber dominates the meta and is picked in the majority of compositions at the professional level. It is therefore not surprising to see that he is undergoing further changes. Localized skill damage

The developers have made changes to the following three ultimates: Overdrive, Tour De Force and Bladestorm. The point? To have them follow the same localized damage rules as the game's weapons: hitting the head or the legs applies a different damage multiplier. 

  • Concerning Neon and Overdrive :
    The ultimate of this agent can be very frustrating for those who find themselves confronted with it. The changes made balance Neon at different levels of play. In addition, the changes should add depth to the control of her ultimate requires to aim while sprinting.
    • The damage per shot has been reduced and therefore decreases from 22 to 18HP.
    • The distance before damage reduction has been increased to 15 to 20 metres.
    • The damage multiplier in the legs has been reduced, dropping to from 1.0 to 0.85.
    • The damage multiplier in the head has been significantly increased to from 1 to 3.
  • Concerning Chamber and Tour de force :
    • The damage multiplier in the legs has been reduced to from 1.0 to 0.85.
  • Concerning Jett and Bladestorm :
    • The damage multiplier in the legs has been reduced to from 1.0 to 0.85.
