Valorant Patch Notes 4.09

The latest patch 4.08 was an opportunity for Riot to add a new agent, Fade, and still brings changes to the abilities of several other characters, including Jett and Sova. This patch 4.09 is much lighter, but also brings changes to Chamber and some visual changes to the abilities of Fade. We summarise the most important things you need to know about these patch 4.09.

Key points to remember about this 4.09 patch:

  • Chamber receives a nerf on Trademark
  • Visual changes to Fade abilities
  • Updates in competitive mode

Chamber's nerf

As we announced a few days ago in an article, Chamber does get a nerve on its competence Trademark. This is what it is all about:

  • Trademark
    • The cost has been increased: 150 > 200
    • The number of charges has been reduced: 2 > 1
    • The range of the noise has been increased.

The game developers felt that Chamber's skill was much more powerful than the other Sentinels' tools. They did not think this was normal and therefore decided to increase the cost of the beacon. In addition, he will now only be able to buy one per round. So think carefully about how you will use it. Would you rather use it for your own purposes or to help one of your teammates?

When we think about the Sentinel role, we think about its overall ability to keep map control and defend space. We believe that Sentinels and Sentinel players should have many options and methods to control and defend, whether it’s through the use of Sage’s reactive slow abilities, Cypher’s flank-watching gadgets, or defensively-oriented combat and guns like Chamber. Like all our Agents, it’s important to carve out sharp strengths and weaknesses for Chamber in the roster. If you take him for his weapon arsenal and disengage, you should feel as if you're giving up a strength—like traps or stall—that his peers excel at. As usual, all eyes are now on Chamber changes, and we’ll adjust if we see him suffer disproportionately on defense relative to attack.

Visual changes for Fade

In response to some feedback from the community, it was decided to make some changes to the visual changes on certain abilities of Fade. Nightfall and Seize have therefore been slightly modified.

From now on, when you activate Nightfall, you will normally see fewer flashing textures on diagonal walls. Visual effects have also been added for greater visual clarity.

As for Seize, the orb has been modified to make it more dynamic in subjective view and when selecting agents.

Competitive mode updates

Now when you start a ranked game, you can change the leader of your team. If you are the leader of the group, simply right-click on the name of the person to whom you wish to assign this role. Then select "Make Leader" from the drop-down menu that appears.
