Valorant Patch Notes 3.05

After three months of rather light patches and a 24-hour, it's finally the beginning of a new Act for the Episode 3 of Valorant! No new Agent this time, but a new map. And not just any map, as Fracture breaks (got it?) the codes in many ways. Patch 3.05 also brings some welcome nerfs to the traps, especially Raze's Boom Bot and Killjoy's Turret.

Key points to remember of Patch 3.05:

  • Fracture, the new Valorant map
  • More options to counter the traps
  • The return of Immortals' ranks
  • XP bonus for the Battle Pass Premium

Fracture, the new Valorant map

Valorant Patch Notes 3.05 - valorant news map fracture 00 1 -

The seventh map of Valorant arrives with Patch 3.05! Fracture shakes up the classic tactical FPS-formula by placing the Defender spawn between two Attacker spawns.

In order for players to try out and practice the new map before it opens up to ranked games, Fracture has a temporary game mode named after it. In this mode, you will necessarily play on Fracture.

More options to counter the traps

Before we talk directly about these changes, we should note that Riot Games has decided to slow down the pace of in-game balancing. In its first year, Valorant was making numerous Agent changes with each patch, the way League of Legends does. This will no longer be the case, as we've seen since the start of Episode 3. Valorant is considered balanced now, and any Agent changes will be one-offs.

This being said, Patch 3.05 brings a significant change regarding the behaviour of some ultimate abilities towards traps.

Portrait of Breach Breach

  • Rolling Thunder

The ability can now damage the following traps:

– Killjoy's Alarm Bot
– Killjoy's Nanoswarm
– Killjoy's Lockdown
– Cypher's Trap Wires
– Reyna's Leer
– Sage's Barrier Orb
– Sova's Recon Bolt
– KAY/O's ZERO/POINT

Portrait of Brimstone Brimstone

  • Orbital Strike
  • The ability can now damage the following traps:

    – Killjoy's Nanoswarm
    – Cypher's Trap Wires
    – Sage's Barrier Orb
    – Sova's Recon Bolt
    – KAY/O's ZERO/POINT

    Portrait of Sova Sova

  • Fury of the Hunterr
  • The ability can now damage the following traps:

    – Killjoy's Nanoswarm
    – Cypher's Trap Wires
    – Sage's Barrier Orb
    – Sova's Recon Bolt
    – KAY/O's ZERO/POINT

    Portrait of Killjoy Killjoy

  • Turret
  • In order to counter the power of the Turret in pistol rounds and ecos, the Turret has undergone a small nerf. Instead of slowing down its victims by 72.5%, it now only slows down by 29.5%. This way, opponents are more likely to run away when they are surprised by a Turret shot.

    Portrait of Raze Raze

  • Boom Bot
  • Like Killjoy's Turret, the Boom Bot has been weakened so that it's less decisive against opponents with a low economy. It will now do less damage, but will also cost less. It seems that Raze will never be truly balanced.

    – Maximum damage: 125 -> 80
    – Minimum damage: 50 -> 30
    – Cost: 400 -> 300

    The return of Immortals' ranks

    Several patches ago, Riot Games decided to make the Immortal rank a sort of antechamber to the Radiant rank. Many players complained that they were all in the same boat as Immortals, without being able to really measure their levels against each other. The developers are therefore reversing their decision and reinstating the different Immortal levels.

    Of course, this also changes the restrictions on groups and matchmaking. For example, a Diamond 2 players can only play with a maximum of one Immortal 2 player.

    XP bonus for the Battle Pass Premium

    Players who purchase the Battle Pass Premium will now receive a 3% experience bonus. This bonus is not retroactive, which means that players can no longer wait to see how high they will climb before deciding to purchase. The bonus does not apply to daily and weekly missions.

    Patch 3.05 also contains some minor bug fixes. You can find all this in detail on the official website of Valorant.

    The Patch 3.05 will be deployed on the night of Wednesday 8th to Thursday 9th September.
