Wippie joins Version1 for the Challengers Finals

Just a few hours before the start of the Challengers Finals, Version1 announces the recruitment of Wippie. This information was already shared by Ryan AtRBM in April, but was not confirmed.

Maxim “Wippie" Shepelev is a former player of CS:GO. In February 2021, he joined the Valorant scene and joined Ghost Gaming, which narrowly failed to qualify for the first Challengers of Phase 2 (losing 2-1 to Team Envy). While still on trial at Ghost Gaming, Wippie now plays for Version1 to replace Player1, who left the team on 16th April.

It was time for Version1 to complete its team. Thanks to their fourth place in the first Challengers of Phase 2, they had already qualified for the Challengers Finals. However, Player1's departure had reduced the roster to 4 players, so Wippie joins the team for the Challengers Finals which start tonight. It's not known if he will remain in the team after this competition.

Wippie will be put to the test early on, with his team playing Sentinels, the winners of the second Challengers in Phase 2. If Version1 reaches the final of the Challengers Finals, the team will qualify for the Valorant Masters in Reykjavik in Iceland.
