Nivera joins Scream in Team Liquid
Team Liquid has announced the acquisition of Nabil " Nivera " Benrlitom. He joins the team to replace Kryptix, who temporarily retired for personal reasons.
Team Liquid during the VCT
Throughout the three phases of the VCT, Team Liquid has oscillated between great victories and disappointments. They won the Challengers EMEA during Phase 2, qualifying for the Master in Reykjavik where they only finished 4th. During Phase 3, they finished 4th in the first Challengers EU and won the second, but did not qualify for the Berlin Masters.
However, the roster remains among the top in EMEA. With 300 VCT points, Team Liquid found itself in 5th position in the EMEA ranking. While this score was not enough to qualify for the Valorant Champions, it allows the organisation to reach the Last Chance Qualifier EMEA.
Nivera switches to Valorant
For competitions as intense as the LCQ or the Valorant Champions, organisations obviously seek to create the best cohesion between their players. In this case, Team Liquid can hardly find a duo of players who know each other better than Nivera and ScreaM, since they are brothers.
Nivera is a FPS enthusiast, ex-professional player on CS:GO where he played for Heretics, then Vitality. With the latter, he even two major tournaments including Blast Premier: Fall 2020. He joined Vitality as 6th man, but was benched due to Valve's restrictions on extended rosters. In an interview with Dexerto, Nivera explains his desire to exit the CS:GO scene after several months of inactivity.
"I could have joined many CS teams, but I lost my motivation to play. I didn’t want to continue playing CS professionally."
Nabil "Nivera" Benrlitom
At the instigation of his brother, who sees Valorant as an esports game of the future, Nivera decided to switch to Riot's FPS.
Having never played the game professionally, Nivera will not wait long to show the world what he can. His baptism of fire is approaching as the brothers will make their first side-by-side appearance against One Breath Esport, at the Last Chance Qualifier EMEA.
This is the beginning of a beautiful family and esports story!
