Ignition Series: Vitality European Open – Schedule and Results
This weekend, the the Ignition Series come back to Europe. Corsair and Vitality co-organise an European tournament: the Vitality European Open.
The Vitality European Open takes places in two phases. The first phase made 256 teams compete in a direct elimination bracket. The 8 teams staying in the race are then qualified for the second phase.
This is where things get complicated! The second phase consists in dividing the 8 qualified teams into 2 groups. The top two teams from each group will qualify in a double elimination bracket with an Upper Bracket and a Lower Bracket.
Qualifications for phase 2 took place this weekend and we mostly find names that are getting known on Valorant European scene. At the top of the list, there are of course G2 Esports and Prodigy, the two very present and successful teams since the launch of Valorant, but we also find many teams that had shone during the Rise of Titans, like FABRIKEN and need more DM. We also note the presence of bonkar who, following his departure from Ninjas in Pyjamas, formed his own team: BONK.
The tournament begins this Friday, 10th July at 3pm and will be broadcast on Vitality Twitch channel.
