Valorant Masters 3 Berlin – Programme, teams and follow-up
The Valorant Masters 3 of the VCT 2021 is the second and last Valorant World Tournament before the World Championships. It takes place in Berlin, Germany, from 10th to 19th September 2021. It brings together the best Valorant teams who hope to win the VCT points they need to participate in the Valorant Champions.
Sentinels won the Masters 2 in Iceland outright. This time, the competition could be tougher, especially as there are six more teams to bear. The format of the Masters has changed and now includes a group stage before the play-offs.
The tournament has a cash prize of $700,000. All participants of the Masters 3 will receive Championship Points based on their final ranking. The winning team will immediately qualify for the Valorant Champions. The non-qualified teams that earn the most VCT points will be eligible to play in the Last Chance tournament.

As the Bren Esports team failed to receive a VISA, Group D has been changed. It does not follow the same rules as the other groups. The three teams in Group D will play each other in a round-robin format. The two teams that win the most matches qualify for the rest of the tournament.
Masters 3 Results
The first day of the Masters 3 did not hold any surprise. The favourites won without too much trouble against their opponents. Acend dominated thanks to a cNed in great shape. The 100 Thieves played their game without being worried once. Only G2 Esport, who started with an 11-1 score, showed some signs of weakness when it came to closing games.
Day 2 held more close matches, but also one of the biggest stomps in the VCT. Even though Vision Strikers and Envy won their matches in only 2 maps, they had to fight every moment to keep their advantage. While Gambit completely crushed their Japanese opponents with two 13-1 wins. Gambit had shown their worth at the EMEA and they confirmed their worth on the international scene.
The third day was long! It must be said that the matches were beautiful and close. Sentinels, the Masters 2 champions and favourites of the competition, conceded a map to G2 Esports! This is quite an achievement, as the American team tends to dominate without sharing. As for the last game, following the stomp of the day before, we were eager to see what Gambit Esports was worth against another top American team. Even though they were unable to defeat 100 Thieves, Gambit won the first map convincingly and caused serious problems for their opponents.
While the American teams were playing their hearts out, the Europeans were falling apart. Acend was not able to defeat the Korean players from Vision Strikers. They find themselves in the loser bracket and will have to win their next match on Day 7 to qualify for the play-offs.
Even though Acend fell the day before, G2 Esports are defending Europe's colours on the international stage. They won a convincing victory against F4Q. The other matches were the last chance matches. While Vivo Keyd and Crazy Raccoon remain in the race, it was the last game for ZETA Division and Havan Liberty. They are the first two teams to leave the Masters.
All the matches on Day 6 were extremely competitive, but the highlight was of course G2 Esports' victory over Sentinels. The Europeans managed to beat what has been the best team in the world so far, and in great style. G2 Esports confirmed their dominance on Icebox by winning an easy first map. The game was much closer on Split, where the game could have gone in the Sentinels' favour. G2's strategy of focusing ShahZam and Zombs paid off. G2 Esports therefore takes the first seed in Group D, no matter what happens tomorrow.
