Asuna joins Immortals to complete its Valorant team
The team Immortals had announced its ambitions on Valorant a few weeks ago. At that time, the team only had 4 players and was looking for a last one. Today, the organisation's Twitter account announced that Asuna was joining Immortals as the 5th player.
Peter "Asuna" Mazuryk may not be widely known, but this is largely due to his very young age. At the age of 16, he's probably one of Valorant's youngest professional players. He has already worked on CS:GO playing for different teams in minor leagues, but it was his talent during the variou Valorant tournaments that made him stand out.
Asuna was one of Team Jakenbakelive's players at this weekend's Twitch Rivals. Although his team lost to Brax, T1 team captain, he wreaked havoc with Reyna throughout the tournament and often get the best KDA in game.
Immortals therefore continues in its logic of recruiting young talents rather than veterans. Asuna perfectly represents the fresh blood expected on the competitive scene of Valorant, currently made up of veterans of Counter-Strike. It remains to be seen how he will fit into his team and how efficient their group performance will be.
The Immortals players are:
- Yannick “Koler” Blanchette
- Amgalan “genghsta” Nemekhbayar
- Noah “jcStani” Smith
- Joseph “Bjorlulu” Bjorklund
- Peter “Asuna” Mazuryk
