100 Thieves unveils its new roster
With qualification for the first NA Challengers about to begin, 100 Thieves has unveiled its roster for the 2022 season.
Some things don't change and we will find familiar faces in the organisation. Thus, Hiko, Asuna and Ethan are still here, but replacements were to be found for steel and nitr0, who left the team a few weeks ago. The first one now plays for T1, while the second one went back to his original game: CS:GO. Two newcomers have joined the team and they are BabyJ and ec1s.
BabyJ is a former player of FaZe Clan, a team he joined in June 2021 and with which he notably made a top 2 to Challengers 2 Phase 3. Qualified for the Last Chance Qualifier, the roster made a top 7-8 there and was therefore unable to participate in the Valorant Champions. BabyJ left the team a few days later and has been org-less since. He has now found his new home for 2022 and will play for 100 Thieves.
ec1s is an European player who played for Team Liquid, but was benched quite quickly, then more recently for Ninjas in Pyjamas. His VCT season ended quite early, as he has not been seen on the circuit since July. He did, however, compete at Red Bull Home Ground #2 where he made a top 13-16. He was left without a team after Ninjas in Pyjamas disbanded the roster, following the decision to play in Brazil.
With the recruitment of ec1s, 100 Thieves becomes the third North American organisation to recruit an European player. The latter will take nitr0's place as the team leader.
We hope that they will succeed in proving themselves and that we will see them again at the Challengers, which will begin on 11th February.
