100 Thieves recruits Steel
The 100 Thieves are gradually rebuilding a team. They announced this weekend the recruitment of Joshua "steel" Nissan.
100 Thieves had a lot of ambition, like many Valorant teams when the game was launched. Unfortunately, the results really weren't there. His 5 players have never been able to convince, even for a match.
Annoyed by these repeated failures which tarnished the image of his team enormously, 100 Thieves CEO didn't hide his anger. This was followed by the departures of four out of five players and the arrival of nitr0, a star of the American Counter-Strike scene.
Obviously convinced that they have to go for the elite of CS:GO, 100 Thieves recruited Steel. He was among the most talented players of Valve's FPS, until he was banned from its competitive scene. He was involved in the rigged-matches scandal, alongside Brax who now plays for T1 (themselves in trouble at the moment). Since then, he has periodically shared his interest in Valorant, notably on stream.
Steel is a natural leader who has been able to pull his teammates to the top. So he might be the element 100 Thieves need to get back onto their feet. However, Hiko was the team captain, before the role was handed over to nitr0. So this is the third captain profile in this team. It will be interesting to see how the roles will be distributed.
100 Thieves currently has only 3 players and has not been able to participate in the last US tournaments. The schedule, however, is rather light for the coming weeks, which should give them time to complete their team and train until hostilities return.
