Day 1 and Group stage round-up - Mandatory Cup 2023

At the end of the first day of the Mandatory Cup 2023There are already only 4 teams left in the field. the 12 guests ! We take a look back at the group stage on Day 1, which was extremely tight right up to the end, and gave us the semi-final line-up.

Group A

Winner : CGN Esports

Match 1
Fire Flux vs Solary
13 - 2
13 - 11

Match 2
Fire Flux vs CGN Esports
14 - 12
10 - 13

Match 3
Solary vs CGN Esports
6 - 13
9 - 13

Fire Flux had started the day extremely well, winning 3 of their 4 matches. But the Turkish players could only watch helplessly as CGN Esports came from behind in the other group matches. In the end, CGN Esports also won 3 of their 4 matches, with an advantage in the number of total rounds won, enabling them to qualify for the semi-finals. For their part, the new Solary line-up was unable to make the difference. However, this was the first competition for a team formed just a few days ago. We hope to see more of them at the VCL France!

Group B

Winner : NASR Esport

Match 1
Dsyre vs Mandatory
16 - 14
3 - 13

Match 2
Dsyre vs NASR Esport
13 - 10
11 - 13

Match 3
Mandatory vs NASR Esport
7 - 13
6 - 13

Group B, in which Mandatory played, was by far the tightest of all. The first two matches ended in a tie. Mandatory would have had to win the last map against NASR Esport with an 8-round advantage to qualify. Unfortunately, NASR Esport were far too strong that night and even winning the map proved impossible. By being the only team in the group to win 3 matches, they qualify for the semi-finals.

Group C

Winner : Acend

Match 1
Acend vs SAW
13 - 10
13 - 8

Match 2
Acend vs GoNext Esports
13 - 8
13 - 4

Match 3
SAW vs GoNext Esports
5 - 13
12 - 14

Acend showed no mercy in Group C. They won all 4 of their maps, each one easier than the last. There wasn't much at stake in the third match between SAW and GoNext Esports, but we can salute the latter's temerity, as they earned their place in the tournament via the Open Qualifier and held off an excellent EMEA team.

Group D

Winner : UCAM Tokiers

Match 1
Galakticos vs UCAM Tokiers
2 - 13
11 - 13

Match 2
Galaktico vs DVM
2 - 13
13 - 5

Match 3
UCAM Tokiers vs DVM
10 - 13
13 - 8

As in Group A, the game was extremely close, but there was no fantastic comeback. for DVM which failed to win a 3rd map. The new VCL France team, like Solary, was still breaking in and had to bow out. The UCAM Tokiers players therefore eliminated two French teams and now find themselves in the semi-finals.
