The first Game Changers Championship will be held in Berlin
This year, the VCT Game Changers takes on a new dimension as it will conclude with an international championship, similar to the Valorant Champions. This first edition of the Game Changers Championship will take place in Berlin in November.
Game Changers are tournaments designed to promote diversity in video games, but also to highlighting women players and other genders marginalised by the community.
Initially developed in North America, Game Changers have gradually spread to different parts of the world, including Europe. This European circuit has been dominated, since last November, by the players of G2 Gozen, the women's team of the structure.
Although the different circuits were not connected at the outset, Riot Games wanted to evolve the format by integrating an inter-Game Changers championship, as announced in 2022 programming. This first World Championship will feature the 8 best women's teams of the different regions; each region having recovered 1 or 2 slots according to its level of competitiveness.
According to current information, the Game Changers Championship is planned to be a LAN event, played in a double elimination tree format. The teams, qualified by their performance in their regional circuit, will compete in Berlin this winter. To be more precise, the tournament will take place 15th-20th November.
