Steel leaves 100 Thieves and joins T1
It's official, the American team 100 Thieves has announced that it is parting ways with its star player: steel.
Joshua "steel" Nissan joined 10 Thieves in September 2020 as a leader. His experience quickly positioned the team as one of the best in North America. In fact, the team won the First Strike North America shortly after.
Despite being considered one of the favourites for the 2021 season, they had mixed results in the first few months. The second part of the year went better, with a top 2 at the Phase 3 Challengers, and a top 4 at the Berlin Masters. It was during this international event that steel was last seen.
Shortly after this performance, 100 Thieves made the decision to relegate the player to a substitute position, just a few weeks before the start of the Last Chance Qualifier NA. His place was taken by b0i, although this did not prove to be any more successful as the team finished third in the competition which could have taken them to the main event of the year: the Valorant Champions.
For several weeks now, changes have been taking place within the organisation and the roster is being completely revised. Dicey and b0i have already left the team, and it's now steel's turn to be fired.
For a few days, some reports indicated that the player could join the ranks of T1. This is no longer a rumour, he will play for this team for the 2022 season ! T1 failed to qualify for the Last Chance Qualifier and has not been seen in competition since late July. We hope that the next VCT season will be more beneficial for them, and we wish them good luck with their new recruit.
