nAts leaves M3 Champions
The Russian player Ayaz "nAts" Akhmetshin announced on his social networks that he was no longer a member of M3 Champions. After a difficult year for the whole team, it was time for him to take a different path and open up to new opportunities.
After two years in the roster, nAts has decided to leave M3 Champions. Formerly known as Gambit Esports, the team was one of the best in the VCT during the 2021 season. Indeed, they managed to win several CIS Challengers, the CIS Masters 1 and the Masters 3 Berlin. Qualified for the Valorant Champions, the team failed in the final against Acend, not without an excellent performance throughout the competition.
This year, due to the situation in Ukraine and Russia, the team split its roster, giving it the opportunity to develop as an independent. Thus was born M3 Champions.
Despite a somewhat chaotic start, the players managed to finish fourth in the Challengers 2 EMEA and qualify for the Last Chance Qualifier. Unfortunately, they eventually lost to Team Liquid and have seen their dreams of Champions fade away.
At the beginning of August, all the players were released from their contracts with Gambit Esports and announced that they were looking for a new organisation. It turns out that the roster will not remain whole after all, as nAts announced his departure on Twitter.
The player has indicated that he is open to new opportunities and is unlikely to remain without a structure for long. In any case, we wish him good luck in his search for a team and hope to see him play again next season.
