Dates for the Mandatory Cup 2023

After two editions in 2020Mandatory organises a new Mandatory Cup in 2023. This year, the competition is part of the official circuit VCT OFF//SEASON. If most of the teams are invited, one of the participants will get its slot thanks to the Open Qualifier. In this article, you will find all important dates about the competition.

Mandatory Cup Open Qualifier dates

  • Registration - from 17 November at 8pm to 6 December at 11.59pm
  • Qualifying it - on December 9 and 10,

The Open Qualifier is open to all, whatever the level of your team. If you want to take part, you'll need to be responsive, as this phase will bring together a maximum of 66 teams. You can register on

The Qualifier takes place over two days. The first day is reserved for the 6 Swiss rounds, which determine the 8 teams that will advance to the playoffs the following day. At the end of this phase, the winning team earns its place in the Main Event. Each day starts at 12pm CET.

Main Event dates

  • Swiss rounds - December 13,
  • Playoffs - 14 and 19 December,

The second part of the Mandatory Cup brings together 12 teams, including Mandatory and 10 guest teams from the VCL and the EMEA League, in addition to the team that has qualified. This stage will take place in two phases: a group phase, followed by the playoffs. The first matches are scheduled for Wednesday the 13th of December. The semi-finals will take place the 14th and the final, on 19 December. Each evening starts at 6pm CET.
