Benelux wins Spike Nations 2022
This weekend saw the third edition of the Spike NationsThis was a tournament involving 12 teams from the EMEA region. For three days, they fought hard, but in the end it was the team Benelux which has become the norm.
The Spike Nations has taken place every year since the creation of Valorant and pits 12 teams of the EMEA region. This tournament has a charitable purposesThe cash prize is donated in full to the associations chosen by the participating teams. The higher a team ranks in the ranking, the more money its association receives.
This year, 60,000 were at stake and it was the Benelux that managed to secure first place in the tournament to donate no less than $10,000 to its association: Greenlight for Girls. It organises events for girls to discover the joys of maths, science, engineering and technology through hands-on workshops.
The team consisted of Nivera and ScreaMtwo players from the Team Liquid team, as well as kira, BEASTy and iDex. Together, they made a splash by finishing first in their group with 3 wins and 0 losses. They then went on to beat France in the quarter-finals, Italy in the semi-finals and Eastern Europe in the Grand Final.
