The Mandatory Cup returns in December!
/!\ Important update /!\
Due to calendar conflicts at Riot Games, we have been forced to postpone the start of the competition. the final of the Mandatory Cup 2023 on 19 Decemberinstead of 15 December.
It is coming back ! More than 3 years after its last edition, Mandatory is proud to announce a brand new Mandatory Cup in 2023 on Valorant as part of the VCT OFF//SEASON !
Let's face it, the Valorant European scene has been a bit too quiet since the Valorant Champions. That's why, in association with Riot Games and in partnership with Razer and TopAchat, we've decided to spice things up by bringing you back a new Mandatory Cup. Our aim is to put on a good show for Valorant fans, while offering teams (professional or otherwise) an opportunity to play or test themselves in the run-up of the official circuit in 2024.
The Mandatory Cup will be divided in two phases:
The Open Qualifier phase (from December 9 to 10)
As always at Mandatory, we want to offer the opportunity to all players who want to prove their worth and compete with the best to do so. That's why the Mandatory Cup will start with an open tournament where all teams of 5 players, whatever their level or nationality, will be free to enter. The 66 first teams to register will be selected to take part in this first stage. The team that wins this tournament will take part in the second phase.
Registration for the Open phase will run from 8pm on November 17 to 11.59pm (Paris Time) on December 6.
The Invitational phase (13, 14 and 19 December)
The Invitational phase will be the main event of the Mandatory Cup, bringing together some of the best teams in Europe, from both the VCL and the VCT EMEA. Among the guest teams will of course be Mandatory's own Valorant team! These teams will be joined by the team that won the Open Qualifier. There will be a total of 12 teams fighting to win the $15,000 cash prize at stake.
The competition will begin with a group phase where the top 4 teams will meet in a direct elimination tree. For more information, see our article about the Mandatory Cup's format and rules.
As far as broadcasting is concerned, anyone who requests it will be allowed to broadcast and comment on the tournament on their Twitch channel, with the exception of the semi-finals and final. The second phase of the tournament will be broadcast and commented on on ZeratoR's channel.
