Juliano returns to CS:GO with G2 Oya
Recently, G2 Esports announced the departure of Juliano, one of the star players of its Valorant team. In three years of activity, Julia Kiran dominated the European and international esports scene with G2 Gozen. Former professional Counter Strike player, she chose to end her Valorant career to return to her favourite game. She will continue to wear the G2 colours loud and clear. With her former teammate, zAAz, she has put together a brand new roster called G2 Oya.
After the release of Valorant, many players left Counter Strike to try their hand at the new FPS from Riot Games. This is how in October 2021, G2 Gozen was born with juliano, zAAz, mimi, petra and aNNja on board.
All excellent players, they soon established themselves as one of the best women's teams in the EMEA region. If they finished only third in their first tournament, they became unbeatable in subsequent competitions. So it was without any difficulty that the team qualified for the Game Changers Championship.
After reigning supreme on the European Valorant scene, Juliano finished her career in style. During this final competition, she and her teammates crushed their opponents, defeating X10 Sapphire, Cloud9 White and Team Liquid Brazil to reach the Grand Final. Just as the World Champion title seemed to be slipping away from her, the player finally lifted the trophy, at the end of a very close game against Shopify Rebellion. Those days are now over. Juliano recently ended her career on Valorant, but she is not leaving the competition.
If zAAz had retired last May, it would appear that she has not found "fun hobbies for retired people". Commissioned by G2, she was given an assignment to build a CS:GO team. After so many years together and so many victories, she gladly turned to Juliano to help her with this new major project. The duo also finds back, kr4sylya, with whom they already played with in the past. This roster, entitled G2 Oya, is completed by manka and kyossa.
The new season Game Changers EMEA will start next April. Until then, Petra, mimi, Glance and Mary will need to find a replacement if they are to continue their dominance over the other teams. We look forward to seeing how the G2 Gozen do this year!
