G2 Esports launches its female team: G2 Gozen

The circle of professional female teams on Valorant is growing. It's the turn of G2 Esports to present its roster, named G2 Gozen.

The team is made up of a solid core of four former professional CS:GO players. The trio of mimimimichaela, zAAz and Juliano formed at Originem and played for Team Secret between 2016 and 2017. These players are among the best in the world and have won many major CS:GO tournaments, such as the Intel Challenge Katowice in 2017.

In the next stage of their career, the trio met the fourth member, Petra Stoker, known as petra. Together, they were victorious of the DreamHack Showdown Winter and Summer 2020 in Europe, among others.

This victory was on the team XSET. Prior to joining their new organisation, the players recently competed in the EMEA Game Changers Series I, under the name The Originals. The roster made it to the semi-finals, but lost to eventual winners Tenstar Nova.

G2 has signed the old CS:GO roster from XSET, with one exception, as kr4sylya is replaced by a new recruit, Anja Vasalica aka aNNja. The integration of this team has been the subject of an official statement, available here.

Carlos Rodriguez, CEO of G2 Esports, expressed his joy about this acquisition and motivates them in his own way... !

To me they aren't a female team, they are our VALORANT team. At G2, we build teams and bring in players based on skill and brand fit. These are amongst the best female players in the world and we’re proud to have them. We’ll support them all the way, as we support all our teams, and look forward to seeing them grow and kick some ass as part of the G2 army.

Carlos ‘Ocelote’ Rodriguez – Founder of G2 Esports

With the start of the EMEA Game Changers Series II starting next week, this new team, which is expected to participate, will have the opportunity to prove its talent very soon, much to the delight of Ocelote!

For its part, XSET hasn't stopped Valorant by letting this roster go. Indeed, the organisation has already joined the competitive scene since the end of September with its team XSET Female.
