Creating a Premier team in Valorant

Premier mode is a competitive mode internal to Valorantwhich differs from Classé mode. It's more of a mode for players who want to get involved in Valorant esports. It requires the creation of a team and play regular matches. In this guide, we explain in detail how it works, how to sign up and, most importantly, how to create your team.

Premier mode operation

Premier works thanks to a seasonal systemThese are generally spread over a full Valorant season. Each season begins with a phase of weekly matches - up to two a week - lasting several successive weeks, and ends with the play-off tournament, a competition that rewards the best players.

Before the start of a season, teams are placed in a division according to the average level of players in the team. There are five divisionssome of which have several tiers. Here's the list, from highest to lowest:

  • Competitor,
  • Elite 1 to 5,
  • Advanced - 1 to 5,
  • Intermediate - 1 to 5,
  • Open - 1 to 5,

In every division, matches work like those on the official circuitThis means that the first team to reach 13 points wins. In the event of a tie, a two-point difference is required to end the game. Note that since patch 7.09, both teams have one timeout per side, plus one for extra time.

Extra time have nevertheless two key features: the first team to score 12 points chooses whether to start on Attack or Defence, and if extra time has already been played twice, the two teams play a final round in "sudden death".

Every week, a map is chosen by Riot Games and all the teams compete on this map. It is possible to practise on this map in real conditions, thanks to a special queue outside match times.

Over the course of the regular season, the aim is to collect as many points as possible to be able to take part in the final tournament of its division. In reality, we need to obtain Minimum 600 Premier Points to gain access. Teams earn 100 points for each victory. Conversely, any defeat results in a loss of 25 points.

During the famous tournament, the qualified teams are placed in a bracket containing between five and eight teams. All matches are play-offs. Unlike regular season fixtures, the teams playing each other define the map on which they will play via a Pick&Ban stage. The winners of these tournaments receive unique rewards.
