The Ascension tournament format on Trackmania

Last year, the Trackmania Cup has come to an end after a crazy evening in a sold-out Bercy. However, ZeratoR has not given up on the idea of a major gaming competition, quite the contrary. Not long ago, he unveiled the AscensionA new tournament to challenge yourself. Each edition will have its own game, but for the first year, it's good to be able to play in the same way. Trackmania which will again be in the spotlight. You will find all the information concerning the global format of the Ascension.


Ascension is just born, and it is already one of ZeratoR's biggest gaming and esports projects. For this first edition, played on Trackmania, the circuit includes three phases - all are played alone - which will welcome the public in prestigious venues.

Phase 1 - Casino de Paris

EDIT: Due to major water damage caused by bad weather in the Paris region recently, the first stage of the Ascension will finally take place in Lyonin the ZQSD Productions studio.

The very first stage of Ascension 2023 will be held at the Casino de Paris, Thursday 29 June next. In the run-up to this event, ZeratoR and Etoiles, co-hosts of the tournament, will design a number of maps. You can follow the mapping on ZeratoR's Twitch channel and that of Stars and find the routes created via our article dedicated to the Ascension maps.

After an online qualification phase open to all, which will take place on 10 and 11 June, the top 16 competitors will be admitted to the physical event in Paris. To take part in this selection stage, you will need to register between 03 and 09 June. Note that the minimum age requirement is 16 years.

On the day, the selected riders will compete on the same tracks as in the qualifiers for a share of the cash prize. New for this event, the cashprize is participatory. The total amount of the Ascension was determined by the number of subscriptions to the ZeratoR channel over a given period, and for this phase 1, the prizepool will correspond to 15% of the total.

Of the 16 participants, only The 8 best performers will be selected for phase 3. Those who did not manage to qualify or make the TOP8 can rest assured that they will have the opportunity to try again in Phase 2. However, the 8 who qualified for Montpellier will not be able to take part in this second stage.


Phase 2 - Lille Zenith

The Ascension will continue at the Zénith in Lille, Saturday 16 September. As in Phase 1, ZeratoR and Etoiles will be working to create several special circuits. All those who wish to try the adventure will be able to register for the new online qualification phase.

These new qualifications will be held 2 and 3 September. If you would like to try your luck, remember to register between 26 August and 1 September. Note that the minimum age requirement is 16 years.

Again, it is the best 16 who will compete on stage and as for Phase 1, 15% of total cashprize will be put into play. At the end of the physical event, the TOP 8 will qualify for the last stage of the tour.


Phase 3 - Sud de France Arena in Montpellier

The final phase of the Ascension will take place, in physics, at the Arena in Montpellier, Saturday 28 October. This time, there will be no no new mapping phase The game will be played on tracks from the first two map-pools. ZeratoR did say that it would be possible for there to be one or two premium maps.

The players taking part in this final are the 16 qualifiersThe 8 from Phase 1 and the 8 from Phase 2. They will have to give it their all if they want to win the biggest part of the prizepool. Here, it is not 15% that will be at stake, but the rest of the cashprize, which is 70% of the global pool.
