The Buried Treasure of the Zero Zone: DLC for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet

This is the Pokémon Day and The Pokémon Company celebrated the anniversary of the license by announcing the CSD of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet : the Buried Treasure of the Zero Zone. New game zones, new Pokémon to capture and new Legendaries!

A two-part DLC

Gone are the days of the extra version like Pokémon Yellow or Pokémon Emerald. Just like the Sword/Shield versions, the Pokémon Scarlet and Purple games will instead get DLC with extra content. Or rather, two DLCs, as Zero Zone Buried Treasure is split into two parts with different content.

The first game is called The Turquoise Mask. It will take the students of the Pokémon Academy on a school trip to a brand new game zone full of tradition: Septentria. This DLC is expected to be available in autumn 2023.

The second part is called The Indigo Disc. Your trainer will be the subject of a school exchange with the Académie Myrtillea futuristic academy in the middle of the ocean. This DLC should be available this winter 2023.

The duality of prehistory and the future is once again present in this DLC, but for the first time, Pokémon Violet players will be able to experience locations inspired by the past, while Scarlet players will get a taste of the future.

Ogerpon and Terapagos, two new Legendaries

Each part of the DLC will feature an opportunity to meet a brand new Legendary Pokémon. Part 1 will allow you to meet Ogerpona Pokémon that terrifies other creatures with its mask. Part 2 features Terapagosa mysterious turtle with a shell that evokes every type of Pokémon in existence.

We don't yet know their types or their capabilities. So we'll have to wait a bit.

Three new Pokémon revealed

The Turquoise Mask poster revealed three new Pokémon from the past. They are Félicanis, Fortusimia and Favianos.

Old Pokémon are back

The presentation confirmed the return of old Pokémon. Feunard and Milobellus, among others, will be available in The Turquoise Mask. While The Indigo Disc will bring back Metang or Manatee and many others.

DLC Pre-Order Bonus

Although the first part of the DLC won't be playable until this autumn, it can be pre-ordered now on the Nintendo eShop.

It is not possible to buy one part without buying the other, so you will need to buy the entire Zero Zone Buried Treasure to enjoy this new content and the new Pokémon.

By pre-ordering the DLC before 31 October 2023, you will get a code to unlock a Zoroark by Hisuifrom Pokémon Legends: Arceus. It has the Strings ability and is a Dark Teracrystal type.

You will also get a new set of uniforms, depending on your version.
