The Academy Tournament in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet
After completing the Zero ZoneYou've entered the post-game of Pokémon Scarlet or Violet. With the main story finished, you may be wondering what to do next... Don't worry, there are still plenty of activities left, including the Grand Tournament of the Academy. This stage allows you to prove your worth once again, by competing against various teachers and other renowned trainers.
However, in order to participate, you must first complete a new task provided by Alisma. The latter asks you to inspect the Paldea Arena and to beat all the Champions a second time. When you have defeated the eighth Champion, you are invited back to the Academy. The League Leader is waiting for you there and asks you to report back to her on your Arena tour.
Then go to the Hall and talk to the receptionist to learn the rules of the competition. You will randomly meet one opponent after another. Furthermore, you will not be able to change your Pokémon during the tournament. Note, however, that your fighters will be healed between each battle. So be prepared: any defeat is eliminatory. It's time to get the title of Best Trainer in the Academy!
When you first enter the Academy Tournament, your opponents are not random. You will face, in order, Pepper, Jacq, Élige and Alisma. Since Alisma has level 69 and 70 Pokémon, we recommend Pokémon of at least level 70 for all battles. Below, you'll find our advice on which Attack types to use in each encounter, as well as a list of the Pokémon you'll be facing.
Pepper's Pokémon
Pepper uses the same Pokémon it had when you battled to finish the quest for A Perfume of Legend. However, they are much more powerful this time: they have all taken several levels. We advise you to use Combat, Fire, Water and possibly Ice attacks.
