On the road to Mesaledo - Solution Part 5 - Pokémon Scarlet and Violet
Continuation of the solution to Pokémon Scarlet and Violet with this Part 5: On the way to Mesaledo.
In this section we will:
- Discover the open world!
- Discover the Pokémon Centres
- Crossing the Plato Real
- Discover our first Teracristal Pokémon
The open world of Paldea
From the lighthouse you should see a kind of petrol station with a very bright red roof. It is a a Pokémon Centrea place where you can heal all your Pokémon for free. This is your next destination.
As you descend from the lighthouse, you'll finally get a taste of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet's open world. Technically, you're still limited in where you can go, but there's still a lot of room to play with and plenty of different Pokémon.
Pokémon have habitats that correspond to their types. If you are looking for Water Pokémon, you will find them near rivers or bodies of water. Plant Pokémon tend to bask in fields of flowers or under trees, etc.

You can inspect the level of a wild Pokémon by holding the ZL key and aiming at it. This will help you avoid unpleasant surprises by triggering battles against Pokémon that are too strong for you.
That being said, you will no longer be told to explore left and right to capture new Pokémon. It will be up to you to do this on your own to gain the experience and levels necessary to continue the adventure. If you find that your opponents are too high level for you in this solution, go out and fight Pokémon or trainers on the roads.
The Pokémon Centre at Plato Real
On your way to the Pokémon Centre, you may come across your first Trainers. All the characters you encounter in the wilderness are opponents who will start a fight if you talk to them. You can ignore them all, but we recommend that you fight them regularly. They are often a great way to see new Pokémon and are the main source of money in the game.

Once you arrive at the Pokémon Center, talk to the nurse at the red desk as soon as you have need for care. The blue window allows to buy or sell objectsincluding Pokéballs. You have two currencies of equal value to pay: Pokédollars and League Points (PL). You earn Pokédollars by beating trainers and League Points by catching Wild Pokémon. The green box office allows you to create TCs in exchange for items left behind by the Pokémon. The number of TCs available will increase as the adventure progresses.
We recommend that you always carry at least twenty Pokéballs with you. You will constantly come across new Pokémon and, who knows, maybe even an extremely rare Shiny Pokémon. Always be prepared to catch Pokémon and go back to buying Pokéballs when you have less than ten. Also, be aware that if you buy 10 Pokéballs at a time, the seller will give you one free.

Another piece of information: as soon as you enter a Pokémon Center, you become a a teleportation point. At any time during your journey, by opening your map, you can select it to go there immediately. Always go through the Pokémon Centre you pass to make your journey easier and save time.
Mesaledo and the revenge of Menzi
Once your Pokémon have been healed and you've finished shopping, it's time to cross the Plato Real to the entrance of Mesaledo, where there is another Pokémon Center. Outside the city gates, Menzi offers you a new battle.
