Mandatory beats BeGenius - VRL 2022 Split 2 - Match 5

This fifth match of Mandatory of Split 2 marks the beginning of the first Super Week of the VRL. The schedule is therefore rather busy and the teams will have to show their endurance, especially ours as it will face in 3 days the 3 teams with which it shares the second place in the ranking. This marathon starts well, since Mandatory defeated BeGenius by a score of 13-9 with a special composition.

Summary of the match

Although the Defense did not start well for Mandatory in the first few rounds, the team quickly recovered. All the players played very well and had the opportunity to shine. hoppY was even in particularly good form, regularly taking triples, if not forties. BeGenius didn't disappoint though and the rounds were pretty close, although the score was in Mandatory's favour at the side change, at 8-4.

The Attack was more complicated to negotiate for Mandatory. BeGenius' strategy based on retakes was extremely effective, until they went back to the score. But this was without counting on HyP and his multiple clutches. The momentum he gave his teammates (and the team's economy) brought everyone back into the match. Mandatory put in a string of solid rounds and, if not for a little overconfidence that cost the team a match point, ended up winning the match.
