The notes de patch 2.05 are very short. It must be said that the previous patch was very rich and that we're in the middle of the Valorant Masters period. Riot Games has learned from its mistakes and is playing it safe, and rightly so. This patch is therefore an opportunity to continue adjusting the penalties for problematic behaviours while offering new options in the game's menus.
After tackling cheaters, bad players and AFK players, Riot Games is now tackling bad behaviours in the chat channels. The new system will analyse chat messages sent by other players when they are reported.
This means that if another player behaves in an intolerable way, you should silence them until the end of the game to report it. If you start to call the player names yourself, you may well be punished by the automated system as well.
Players found guilty of misconduct will receive graduated sanctions, including communication restrictions. A player receiving such restrictions will not be able to communication, either verbally or in writing. In addition, players whose communications have been restricted will no longer be able to play in Competitive mode.
All of these changes are part of Riot Games' larger community clean-up project. More systems are being rolled out in this area.
The competitive mode has been changed a lot lately, but this Valorant Patch 2.05 just tweaks the interface and adds some new options.
It's now possible to filter your game history to show only games in competitive mode. This history also displays the RR wins and losses at Radiant level.
As planned, in order to fight against harassment, it's now possible to hide your rank in competitive games. The rank is displayed by default, but the option is available in the game settings.
Leaving the game at the Agent selection screen in competitive mode will now cause a RR loss.
The Patch Notes 2.05 mention a lot of bug fixes. You can read the full patch note on the official Valorant website.
The Patch 2.05 will be deployed between Tuesday 16th and Wednesday 17th March.
