The Valorant Patch Notes 1.11 have just been released! This patch marks the arrival of Skye, but also of Icebox in competitive mode. It's also the start of a project to balance the win rate between Defenders and Attackers. Let's have a look at what you need to know!
Key points to remember of Patch 1.11:
It's been over two weeks since Riot introduced Skye, but she's finally playable. This Agents specialises in tracking down her opponents. She summons animals to find her enemies and hurt them.
We knew it, Riot wants to reduce the victory rate gap between Defenders and Attackers. To do so, they decide to nerf the Sentinels and buff the Initiators. This is a first wave of changes that could be followed by further changes if they're not enough. Brimstone has been mentioned as a potential target for these adjustments.
Killjoy is the Agent receiving the most changes on this patch. Since arriving in Valorant, she has eclipsed Cypher. Riot wants to make her a Sentinel capable of controlling a single area, while Cypher needs to have less impact, but extend his influence across the map. The handywoman therefore receives adjustments that will forcer her to stay in one place.
Killjoy therefore becomes less flexible, but much more efficient.
In order to reduce the Sentinels' power, Cypher's devices are now deactivated after his death. Players will no longer be detected by the Trap Wires after Cypher is dead and the Spy Cam and the Trap Wires also become visible, allowing opponents to learn about Cypher's habits.
According to Riot's internal stats, Breach is the Agent with the lowest win ratio in Valorant, despite his ubiquity. His abilities are to say the least... flashy, but lacking impact. At first, this Initiator receives a slight buff.
Full flash time increased from 1.75s > 2s
The developers want to force players to make choices in dire situations and push them to act, rather than hiding to keep their guns. To do so, they change the earnings in Credits at the end of rounds for players still alive.
We're not talking about changes to the controls for left-handed people, since all the buttons are already customisable in-game. However, it's now possible to display weapons in the left hands of the different Agents.
Note that if you opt for the left-handed view, you will see all the other players also carrying their weapons in the left hand, and vice versa.
