The Valorant First Strike EU starts in less that 3 weeks! It's time for Riot Games to unveil the registrations details. In a new article on the official Valorant website, they remind the format of the competition and give many details on the registration and the cash prize.
Registrations will open on Monday 26th October, at 9am on this page. We already knew that only players over the age of 16 who have reached the Immortal Rank in ranked games can participate. Some additional rules have been announced.
Each team must consist of at least 5 players and 1 substitute. Teams can have up to 3 substitutes. This means that teams that are already established, but which only have 5 players, will have to recruit at least one more player.
Teams must include at lest 3 players resident in Europe. The countries that belong to the Valorant Europe region are: Albania, Andorra, Austria, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Kosovo, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Macedonia, Malta, Monaco, Montenegro, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, San Marino, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom and Vatican.
In Europe, the Valorant First Strike teams will compete for a cash prize of $100.000 (around €58,000). The sums of money are distributed among the best 8 teams on the circuit.
Cash prize distribution:
The matches will be broadcast and commented live, but not during the first phase of the tournament. The first streams will be during the play-offs from 14th November to 15th November 2020. Every match of the main event will be streamed.
It's not yet known which channels the games will be broadcast on, but Riot Games will be giving us more details shortly.
