#MandatoryCup: Teams to keep a close eye on

4th May 2020 – 1:31pm

Last week, we announced our very first Tournament, the #MandatoryCup. This weekend, the 128 teams that will compete to win the €10.000 cash prize have been selected.

Nearly 900 teams have registered, around 50 teams have been shortlisted and 78 have been drawn by ZeratoR during his live on Sunday.

Amon the pro teams that will participate in the event, we find Ninjas in Pyjamas, with their NiP Mix team. The Swedish team was among the first to announce a pro Valorant line-up and to reveal its competitive ambitions. The team has many professional players of FPS, such as Tenner, a former Fnatic player, or bonkar, double world champion of Paladins.

Another team to keep an eye on is PRODIGY. Among its members is the legendary Scream's Team, a well-known Belgium player on the CS:GO scene, who played for G2 Esports and Team EnVyUs. We also find mixwell, mixwell, a sniper who distinguished himself at OpticGaming.

Members of G2 Esports and Method will also participate in #MandatoryCup under the Team Nordictag. This diverse team brings together pros of Counter-Strike, Apex Legends and Fortnite. They distinguished themselves this weekend by reaching the second place of the Twitch Rivals.

To ensure the show, there also are some determined influencers.

The Indyspensable team will of course be there, with the trio ZeratoR, MoMaN, KennyStream. We’ve been following their Valorant games, it’s now time to see if their training is enough to beat international professional teams (spoiler: no).

On the other hand, it will be very interesting to see how MANES & FRIENDS is doing against CS:GO pros. With Gotaga, Mickalow and Akytio who are used to playing together, but also two other well-known players, Nameless and the prodigy Kinstaar, this influencer team can go far.

But maybe the team we should keep an eye on... is yours? Valorant is a brand new game and it’s a safe bet that future talents will be revealed during the first competitive events around them.

The #MandatoryCup begins on Saturday, 9th May at 6pm. The finals will take place on Sunday, 10th May from 2pm and will be cast live by ZeratoR and AlphaCast on ZeratoR's Twitch channel.
