Mandatory wins its first match at the MDI Grand Finals against Legendary

It was the first match of our World of Warcraft team Mandatory won against Legendary in the round of 16 of the MDI Grand Finals. A very encouraging first match in a competitive tournament.

Map 1: Nokhud Offensive

Mandatory set the pace early on in the first map. While Legendary took on the first enemy packs one by one, Skylarked took on the attention of several packs in order to eliminate all the enemies simultaneously. This was a dangerous strategy, as the map's affixes meant that each enemy killed strengthened all the enemies still alive around it. But the risk was rewarded and Mandatory took a lead that Legendary would never recover.

On the second boss, Raging TempestIn the end, it is Moadmoad who takes the electric orbs on the field, preventing the boss from boosting. Mandatory still gains such a lead that they kill the third boss when Legendary hasn't even started to attack him yet.

Decidedly playing the riskiest strategies, Mandatory tackles the last boss, Balakar KhanThey chose to completely ignore the formidable adds. Legendary also tried their luck, but without success as the team took a few kills, consolidating Mandatory's lead to victory.

Map 2 : Halls of Valor

The second map was much closer. The two teams are neck and neck in both the percentage of monsters killed and the DPS of the bosses. Mandatory decided to adopt an all-out game plan: the tank and the healer gather as many monsters as possible, which buffs the DPS, who get a damage bonus depending on the number of enemies around them. The strategy paid off especially in the fight against Fenryrsurrounded by fifteen or so wolves from all over the forest.

Mandatory gains a few seconds advantage with each boss defeated, but Legendary was gradually making its way back to the end of the dungeon. But they make a mistake by losing the aggro of the monsters, leaving them to recover their hit points.

This is how Mandatory was able to win their first ever BO3 on World of Warcraft! They now progress to the quarter finals which will be played on Saturday at around 8pm.
