Map 1: Temple of Jade Serpent

The match starts rather badly for Mandatory. The team plays a more efficient, but much less safe composition by opting for a Warrior rather than a Paladin as a tank and Death Knight rather than Shaman as DPS. They quickly pay the price, as Crims dies in front of the first boss. The malus of a few seconds delay will continue throughout the dungeon and push Mandatory to play even more aggressively.

Even though Mandatory managed to catch up against the second boss, the team lost time again against the third and penultimate boss of the map. Perplexed seemed to have a fifteen-second lead before the final confrontation.

But Perplexed's strategy is going to play a bad trick on them. While they are forced to face the last monsters in two times, Mandatory faces them all at once. The teams are then neck and neck and only the time penalty against the first boss seems to differentiate the two teams.

In the end, it is the composition of Perplexed that will precipitate their defeat. By favouring the Shaman over the Death Knight, Perplexed is not able to quickly get rid of a powerful add of Sha of Doubt, the last boss of the dungeon. They start by losing Wolfdisco, then Ashine, two of their DPS. In the panic, Perplexed suffers the Thundering affix which immobilises all the players and causes a wipe.

Mandatory wins despite a small scare.

Map 2 : Halls of Valor

Back in the Halls of Valor, Mandatory gets a head start from the start. Not only do they finish the first boss faster, but Perplexed also suffers a first death. The map management is excellent on the Mandatory side. The Explosion affix doesn't seem to bother them so much, as does the deluge of energy balls thrown by Hyrja, the second boss.

Before entering the portal leading to Fenryr, Maystine goes solo into the forest to send the deer into the mouth of a dragon, allowing the team to gain free percentages. The strategy against Fenryr is the same as the day before: attract aggro from all the wolves in the area in order to benefit from a buff to take down the boss faster. Despite a death of Maystine, Mandatory is a good 20 seconds ahead after the third boss.

In the end, it is against the four kings that things will go wrong. The team fails to attract the attention of the monarchs simultaneouslyThis forces them to face a group of 3, and then 1 last one. Perplexed doesn't have this problem and makes up for all the lost time.

Despite an excellent DPS, Mandatory can't come back against Odyn and Perplexed finally wins the second round.

Map 3: Shadowmoon Burial Grounds

Everything was at stake on the third and last map of the game. As always, Mandatory took all the risks and opted for a Glass Cannon composition (very powerful, but very fragile). This composition forces them to give Perplexed a bit of a head start at the beginning of the game, but normally makes sense at the end of the dungeon.

Mandatory, on the other hand, has a huge scare. She mistakenly attracts the attention of a monster who will come and poke Moadmoad in the middle of a fight on the way to the third boss. Already more fragile than normal, Mandatory is forced to deal with this threat to kill the worm, before turning back to eliminate the unwelcome pest. Moadmoad then has to divide his care between himself and Skylarked, who nearly dies several times.

Fortunately, against Bonemaw, Perplexed suffered a death that put the teams back on an even keel. A few seconds later, Perplexed suffers again from the effects of Thundering and loses one of his DPS. In addition to the malus, the loss of damage slows down our opponents enormously. Mandatory only has to play safe to validate the map and qualify for the MDI Global Finals Winner.
